"I enjoyed the book on two levels: firstly, because the story was fascinating; secondly, because its theme is Hungary where I was born."

Sheila's thoughts on Dangerous Promise
How would you describe this book?
This is a treasure hunt, time spent in Hungary, a fascinating, beautiful and historic country. My heroine travels unknown miles, determined to complete an errand for a friend. She realises she is in danger but doesn’t know whom, if anyone, she can trust.
Where did the idea for this book come from?
I wanted to re-visit the Great Hungarian Plain, if only in my mind.
Did the story end up where you thought it would when you started writing?
Yes. I need to create a fairly firm outline because of the historical background I’ve researched. Although fresh ideas come as I write, I include these, but keep to the central plot and the ending.
Which character in this book did you enjoy writing the most?
I enjoyed Carla, the heroine, because she is spirited, intelligent, and brave. She has no intention of breaking trust, despite the danger it entails.
