What the readers say
Patricia's thoughts on Love by Design
What inspired you to write this book?
A visit to New England – locations play a big part in my stories and I often want to write about a particular place. I am a nervous flyer so I thought I would pass that on to Sara.
To what extent did you plan the plot in advance?
I do not work from a detailed plan. I prefer to let the characters lead me through the story although I have to keep an eye on them!
Which character in this book did you enjoy writing the most?
Often it is one of the minor characters that interest me the most and in this case it is Roger: bumbling and absolutely not right for Sara.
What was the hardest thing in this book to write?
It is always the tying together of all the loose ends and bringing things to a satisfactory conclusion. Endings are so much more difficult for me than beginnings.
