In the Shadow of Disgrace is David Hough's first book in the Historical Adventures in Cornwall series. The story blends historical fiction and romance with a touch of adventure thrown in for good measure:

In the year 1789, Jeffrey St Vincent returns to his native Cornwall after being discharged from the Royal Navy in disgrace. His life becomes increasingly intertwined with that of a Cornish young woman Nell until they both find themselves caught up in grave danger.

Prestwick by David Hough published

David Hough’s aviation thriller Prestwick has been published.

The story begins when a freak mid-air collision cripples a trans-Atlantic 747 and a US Air Force jet. Against the clock and overwhelming odds, the planes’ crews – or what’s left of them – struggle to save the on-board survivors.

Prestwick has been reviewed as "a real page turner" and "a roller-coaster of a ride from beginning to end".

The Vanson Curse is out now

The first book in David Hough's Historical Adventures in Cornwall series has been published. The Vanson Curse tells the story of Kit Vanson who is sickened by the way his father and brothers abuse the slaves on their Alabama cotton plantation. He flees back to his late grandfather’s sleepy Cornish farm. He hopes to find peace of mind, but is caught up in turbulent events as he tries to atone for his family sins by helping his neighbour against a merciless vendetta.

The novel has been reviewed as "a dark, well written, fast moving, modern novel of the 19th century Cornwall". The Historical Novel Society recommends it as "a good read for people who want to know more about 1830s England".
