The third book in the Historical Adventures in Cornwall -series, In the Shadow of Deception, has been published.

The author David Hough describes the book as being "at heart, a historical romance, telling the story of village policeman’s love for a Cornish maid and the problems they encounter. But it is also more than that. It is also a crime story... and Cornish history set in 1887, the momentous year of Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee."

The Hills of Home
The Hills of Home tells the story of Melanie who is unsure about her forthcoming wedding and decides she needs some time away to think things through. She applies for a ghost-writing job that involves writing the biography of the mysterious Linda Shelley.


When she goes for the job interview, she meets Linda’s estate manager Conrad. Melanie is irresistibly drawn to him, but Conrad seems to have something to hide... 

Love by Design is about Sara who is still pining after Owen, a handsome writer she met during her holiday in the US two years ago. Although she has tried to forget him by burying herself in her new interior design business, it hasn’t worked.
 
When Sara bumps into Owen by accident, the suppressed feelings and wonderful memories of their time together resurface. However, as their holiday romance didn’t end under the best of circumstances – and since two years is a long time to accumulate further complications – they both have some explaining to do...

David Hough’s aviation thriller Prestwick has been published.

The first book in David Hough's Historical Adventures in Cornwall series has been published. The Vanson Curse tells the story of Kit Vanson who is sickened by the way his father and brothers abuse the slaves on their Alabama cotton plantation. He flees back to his late grandfather’s sleepy Cornish farm. He hopes to find peace of mind, but is caught up in turbulent events as he tries to atone for his family sins by helping his neighbour against a merciless vendetta.

The novel has been reviewed as "a dark, well written, fast moving, modern novel of the 19th century Cornwall". The Historical Novel Society recommends it as "a good read for people who want to know more about 1830s England".
